Crystal · Zalera · Shirogane
Ward 9; Plot 46

    Open Tuesday Nights
    6P -9P PT | 7P - 10P MT
    8P - 11P CT | 9P - 12A ET

    The Rulebook

    1. This is an 18+ venue. While we don't allow ERP, darker/more mature topics may still be brought up. As such, we ask that any patrons be 18+ both IC and OOC.

    2. Discrimination, harassment, bullying, etc. will not be tolerated.

    3. Keep IC and OOC separate.

    4. We welcome all sorts of patrons. Whether lalafell, voidsent, eldritch abomination, a canon character, or anything else, we welcome all characters as long as they follow the rest of our rules.

    5. Minions are allowed. Weapons are to be kept holstered.

    6. Moon vision available via our Discord. Please don't use any flashy, distracting, and/or loud effects in the venue.

    7. Use the appropriate search info tags. The yellow 'looking to meld' tag is for staff. Putting on your RP tag will let others know you'd like to RP. If you don't have your RP tag on, we'll still give you a menu, but feel free to send us a tell if you're just here to look around/enjoy the atmosphere instead.

    8. Our doors are open for RP even during off hours. If you'd like to RP during our off hours, feel free to stop in and act as though we're staffed by NPCs.

    9. Be respectful. If you do something against our rules (or rules of common sense), you will be warned. If you continue, you will be kicked out and possibly blacklisted from our venue depending on the severity. If it would get you kicked out of a normal cafe, don't try it here without at least asking OOC first

    Our Preface

When the sun dips below the horizon and the harsh light of day softens to dusk, a cozy shop opens its doors."Welcome to The Apothecafe", greets the sign on the door, "We have something better than a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down." Another sign boasts of having cakes, cookies, potions, and more.At a glance, the place doesn't have the slightest hint of seediness to it. Why, it could even pass as respectable. Still, it's such a strange combination, an apothecary and a cafe... and what sort of cafe only opens at night? There's certainly something odd going on here, for those eager and willing to attempt to unravel the mystery. And for those who aren't the adventurous type, it's a nice enough spot to relax and grab a bite to eat.Whatever your case may be, you're welcome to come inside, pull up a chair, and enjoy some sweets or drinks... or maybe even that something more that the sign on the door promises.

    Our Locale

IMPORTANT: If you're unable to access Shirogane, feel free to send a tell/friend request to Glitchy Aster to get access to FC teleportation to our venue.

The Apothecafe is a cozy immersive roleplay venue welcoming Roleplayers of all experience levels and styles. Our doors are open for roleplay even when we're not staffed.

While it is a comfy cafe, due to the nature of the owner, we also serve as a safe space/neutral ground for otherworldly creatures and/or criminals as long as they behave within our walls.

So come, feel free to stop by for a spell or several as you partake of our offerings.

    Services

    1. Odd Jobs - Looking for an adventurer-type task to take care of? We have a board of odd jobs in the cafe available here.

    2. Fonts of Knowledge - Upstairs are books on a wide variety of subjects. Downstairs has shelves filled with more specialized tomes on different, usually more frowned-upon magicks.

    3. Private Rooms - We have a variety of private rooms that you can use to get away from the main cafe area. Just ask and a staff member can guide you to them!

    4. Open Stage - We do allow bards/performers/etc. to come up and strut their stuff as long as they get permission from management. Contact Glitchy Aster or fill out our form here if interested. Payment can be provided.

    Muffins

Warm, soft muffins with a crisp outside. Available flavors: chocolate, rolanberry, lemon, and crystal.

    Entrees

    Breakfast Sandwich

An egg cooked over-easy nestled between two slices of bread. Cheese and sausage are added by default.

    Pastry Ahriman

A pastry stuffed with a mixture of apples, almonds, and raisins. Formed into the shape of a pudgy, cackling Ahriman, complete with light, flaky wings.

    Rolanberry Cheesecake

A thick slice of cheesecake with rolanberry compote and whipped cream to cut through the richness. You'll need to save room for more than just dessert for this.

    Meals

    Baked Onion Soup

Soup made with onions that have been caramelizing during the daytime hours, topped off with crusty bread and gooey cheese. Wonderfully hearty and filling.

    Sphere of the Ravenous

A mountain of a cake covered in deep purple maple frosting and topped with a handful of pearly white bubble chocolate. You'll feel like you've worked your way through all twelve rungs of Voidsent hierarchy after eating this.

    The Drinks

    Non-Alcoholic

    Coffee

Freshly-brewed coffee with the option of cream, sugar, cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and/or our medicines as additions. We also offer seasonal blends of our own making.

    Mineral Water

    Just plain water.

    Alcoholic

Plain spirits, beers, and ales available in addition to the cocktails below.

    Crimson Tail

A creation from our friends at Spice and Miqo'te. Their homemade Maple Cinnamon Apple Moonshine is shaken with whiskey and lemon juice, then poured into a cocktail glass with olives, cinnamon sugar, and a salted rim. Starts out tart and salty, but ends nice and sweet.

    Crystalline Cocktail

Plums are puréed with ice shards and a touch of lemon juice before being topped off with fizzy white wine. A rim of crushed shards adds an extra boost of aether, but isn't for the faint of heart.

    Foggy Gin & Tonic

The classic combo of gin and tonic is brightened up by a simple syrup infused with a floral tea. A lemon wedge garnish adds a touch of needed citrus to the concoction.

    Spoonful of Sugar

A drink designed by Glitchy for our friends at Null & Void. The herbal notes of absinthe and ether are balanced out by acidic lemon juice and decadent creme de violette in this potent, blue cocktail. With a sugared rim and an edible aster flower finishing off this deceptively sweet treat, it's bound to help make the medicine go down.

    Starry Cosmo

Vodka shaken with orange liqueur, lime juice, blueberry juice, and a generous amount of ice. Once strained into a glass, a sprinkling of sugar and a whole blueberry serves to mimic a starry sky.

    Wake-Up Call

House-made espresso mixed with bourbon and simple syrup. A dash of chocolate bitters and dragon pepper powder turn it into a drink worthy of its name.

    Magic Mule

A drink from our friends at Silver Under Hills. Vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer combine to form a simple, satisfying drink topped off with a lime slice and a sprig of mint.

    The Night's Fire

A drink from our friends at The Umbral Lounge. Vodka is mixed with cherry liqueur before being topped with fresh cherries. Strong and sweet, with plenty of cherry tartness.

    Medicine

Not finding the alchemical solution to your conundrum on our menu? Feel free to ask and we may just have the answer in the bits and bobs we keep around the shop.

    Deodorizer

Want to keep any nasty beasts from smelling you while hunting? Just want to get rid of unsightly odors? Then this oil is for you! Premade bottles are available in unscented, lavender, and rolanberry. Made-to-order scents can be requested if we have the corresponding scented oil on-hand.

    Ether

A concoction for replenishing your magical reserves. May or may not also serve as a good pick-me-up for otherworldly creatures.

    Debilitating Debuffs

We not only help people, but also harm them. Here, you'll find any specialty poisons we've come up with, modeled after ailments that various creatures can inflict.

    Aetherial Poison

Tips the target's aether more towards an element of your choosing.

    Addle

A dull purple liquid that weakens one's mental faculties.

    Necrosis

A sickly-green fluid that breaks down body tissues.

    Paralysis

A thick, yellow fluid harvested from giant spiders. Prevents movement for a time.

    Pox

A Void-colored liquid infused with essence taken from a mimic. A slow-acting, but difficult-to-treat poison.

    RP Prompts

While we do our best to ensure the safety of our guests, accidents and cross-contamination do unfortunately occur. As such, you may optionally type "/random" when you receive your order and refer to the table below as to what sort of effects might have unintentionally been slipped into your food or drink.
All effects are temporary and are meant as fun little prompts, so feel free to interpret or twist them about as you please!
These concoctions may also be intentionally ordered if you wish.

    1. 1-100| Poison: Seems as though one of the many harmful components we stock has made its way into your order. You become ill with symptoms of your choosing. A remedy will be provided free of charge in the event that you're unlucky enough to do The Apothecafe's equivalent of rolling a 1.

    2. 101-200| Dye: A strong colorant has been added to your meal. Your hair/scales/fur are now dyed a color of your choosing.

    3. 201-300| Stimulant: A potent stimulant has been added to your order. You'll have so much energy that you'll be staying up all night, whether you want to or not. Just to warn, it does have a bit of a kick.

    4. 301-400| Soporific: A sleeping draught is slipped into your order. You feel drowsy and lethargic enough that you could just about fall asleep in your chair. You might even do just that depending on your tolerance.

    5. 401-500| Bold and Brash: You've been given a dose of (nonalcoholic) liquid courage. You're suffused with a pleasant warmth that will strengthen your resolve and make you bolder.

    6. 501-600| Ironskin: A potion that makes your skin tougher has been put in your meal. You may be able to take more blows than you would before, though your sense of touch will suffer from you being less sensitive.

    7. 601-700| Attribute Enhancement: You've been given a concoction that boosts an attribute (intelligence/strength/etc) of your choosing. Just do be careful that it doesn't wear off in the middle of using your newfound powers.

    8. 701-800| Aetherboost: A concoction that boosts aetherial attunement has been put in your meal. You might be able to sense aether, cast spells that your previously weren't able to, or other aether-related effects. However, abusing such powers may take a toll on you.

    9. 801-900| Call of the Void: You've been dosed with a mixture that alters your aether in such a way that it turns you into a beacon for otherworldly creatures. You may hear the murmurings of Elementals, the ravings of Voidsent, the ghostly whispers of spirits you knew in life, or you might even glimpse such beings.

    10. 901-999| Ambrosia: While it may not quite be the fabled drink of the gods, it's a close approximation. A wave of unbridled euphoria washes over you and you may find that things go your way for as long as this lasts... though do be careful to not succumb to the vanity and god complexes that have felled many deities in the past.

    Our Staff

Interested in joining our staff? Our hiring information can be found here!.

    Glitchy Aster

    Owner

While he can be a touch difficult to talk to, this lalafell is happy to serve up whatever you're craving as long as you have the gil to pay for it. He's a good cook, though his skills at alchemy could use a little work and there might be... unfortunate incidents at the cafe as a result.

    Seseiba Seba

    Head Server

Though she's blind and still not quite accustomed to Eorzean culture, Seseiba's more than skilled enough to help the cafe out during its busy periods. When not busy, the banter between her and Glitchy might just give our guests some extra entertainment to go along with their meals.

    Artemis Addock

    Bartender

Born with an aetherial sickness, Artemis went through his many years of life able to absorb latent aether only during the night. While this would pose as a drastic drop in quality of life for the average person, Artemis sought to turn it into a unique way to see life. As a patron of the night, Artemis found himself naturally attracted to the discreet affairs of the Apothecafe. He eventually became a bartender at the establishment, promising customers a tarot reading if they order his favorite drink to make.

    Eberen Drell

    Server

A server at the Apothecafe, she greets every customer with a warm smile and kind words, treating everyone that comes in like one would treat a close and dear friend.
When she isn't helping customers with their orders she can be found mingling amongst staff and customers enjoying good conversations. If you want to share or hear a good story, make sure to sit and talk to her. With a writer's heart and mind she is always looking for a new story to write about or looking to share a story with someone.

    Valljan Ruu

    Server

A Miqo’te whose heart was set on adventure has found himself longing for the simple cafe life. Valljan is a lover of sweets and is eager to please guests who share this same affection. Though he tries hard to be a patient and charming server, his ears and tail give away how he is truly feeling. Being fond of stories, he will gladly listen to your tales of adventure all while his tail swishes happily.

    Soreas Lennart

    Mooch

Glitchy's best mate who's technically not employed at the cafe, but still shows up on occasion. While cheerful, lazy-going, and laid-back about most things, this apparent lalafell can still easily get riled up by Glitchy pushing his buttons. He can be found doing any odd job around the cafe that needs done... just as long as he gets his fix of onion soup for the night.

    Belle

    Mascot ? ? ?

While searching through the lands of Eureka, Glitchy came across this copycat bulb and took a liking to her. She can often be found slithering through the cafe, perhaps even doing a twirl or two for the patrons' benefit. No need to fear about her malboro stench putting you off your food; she's regularly treated with the potent deodorizer that's available here.
